Student Smile Subscription – Terms and Conditions

These terms apply to our Student Essentials and Student Smile Subscription plans. By subscribing, you agree to them.

1. Who can join

The plans are for current university and college students. You will need to show a valid student card at your first visit and if asked at later visits. You must be registered as a patient at Waterloo Dental & Orthodontics. Plan benefits are personal to you and cannot be transferred.

2. What each plan includes

Student Essentials – £9.95 per month: 1 check-up (including oral cancer screening) and 1 hygiene visit per membership year, 1 free specialist consultation per membership year, emergency appointments at a discounted student rate, and 15% off private treatment fees.

Student Smile Subscription – £19.95 per month: 2 check-ups (including oral cancer screening) and 2 hygiene visits per membership year, free specialist consultations and emergency appointments when clinically needed, and 15% off private treatment fees.

A membership year runs for 12 months from the date of your first payment. Unused benefits do not roll over to the next year and have no cash value.

3. Hygiene visits

Hygiene visits are available from your third month of membership, once your first two monthly payments have been received.

4. Specialist consultations and emergency appointments

Specialist consultations and emergency appointments are provided when clinically needed, as assessed by our clinical team. They cover the consultation or emergency assessment itself; any treatment that follows is charged separately, with your 15% member discount applied.

5. Your 15% treatment discount

The discount applies to our private treatment fees at Waterloo Dental & Orthodontics while your subscription is active and your payments are up to date. It cannot be combined with other offers and does not apply to NHS treatment.

6. Payments

Payments are taken monthly by card through our secure payment provider, Stripe. If a payment fails, we will contact you, and your plan benefits will be paused until the payment is made.

7. Minimum term and cancelling

Each plan has a 12-month minimum term. After the minimum term you can cancel at any time by giving us 30 days’ notice by phone or email.

If you cancel before the end of your minimum term, you will be asked to pay the difference between the subscription payments you have made and our standard student fees for the check-ups, hygiene visits and consultations you have received.

8. Your 14-day right to cancel

You can cancel within 14 days of joining for any reason. If you have already used any plan benefits in that time, we will deduct our standard student fees for them from your refund.

9. Appointments

Please give at least 48 hours’ notice if you need to cancel or move an appointment. Missed appointments or late cancellations may incur a £35 fee.

10. This is not insurance

Your plan covers only the services listed above, provided at Waterloo Dental & Orthodontics. It is not dental insurance and does not cover treatment at other practices.

11. Changes to these terms

We may change plan prices or benefits after your minimum term ends. We will give you at least 30 days’ notice of any change, and you can cancel before it takes effect.
